What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy?
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy uses a combination of psychotherapy techniques and hypnosis, together with the best techniques from CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and NLP (Neuro- Linguistic Programming).
Psychotherapy is a talking therapy, which seeks to identify solutions that will help you take constructive steps to achieve the changes you wish to make in your life. Psychotherapy is enhanced by relaxing hypnosis, which is a natural way of harnessing your focused thought. You can think of it as ‘day dreaming’. Many clients have found sessions enjoyable and soothing and view them as an opportunity to unwind.
How does Solution Focused Hypnotherapy work?
The key to Solution Focused Hypnotherapy lies in clients gaining an understanding of how their brain works in relation to their particular issue so that they can use the power of their brain to regain control and equilibrium in their lives. It draws on current, well-researched neuroscience, which I will share with you at each of our sessions, to help you understand why you feel the way you do.
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is positive and forward-looking. There is no regression. I do not focus or involve myself in why a problem may have developed or on any previous difficult or traumatic experiences you may have experienced. Many clients find this approach helpful and reassuring. My sole concern as your therapist is to encourage you to focus on solutions rather than problems. I will support you and enable you to identify ways to improve your life through small, achievable steps.
